Berwick Primary School’s school crossing will stay where it is following an exhaustive investigation by council staff.
The school had asked if the flagged crossing could be moved because of concerns about congestion and inadequate parking at peak periods.
In a report to councillors, officers stated that the traffic and parking conditions were similar to many other schools.
Shifting the crossing would cost $50,000-60,000, which the school said it could not afford. Neighbouring residents were also consulted and opted for no change.
