Off with the fairies: Fairy Princess Natasha Latorre (centre) and friends Jorgia Spaccavento, 5 Curtis Hoges, 7, Ella Dunn, 4, Ashton Dunn, 4, need your help to break a Guiness World Record in Minchinbury on Sunday. Pictures: Mike SeaCreative Spirit Centre is ready for a fairy special Guiness world record attempt in Minchinbury on Sunday.

It’s your chance to be part of history and join up to 1000 fairies in one spot.

‘‘Fairy Queen,’’ aka Creative Spirit Centre Kathy Latorre came up with the idea as a way to promote the centre and coincide with its first anniversary, which is on Sunday.

The official world record of 396 was set in the UK earlier this year, while the unofficial record is 647.

Mrs Latorre wants to see at least 1000 fairies.

Proceeds from the day go to the Luke Priddis Foundation.

‘‘There are many children out there affected by autism spectrum disorders, including my son, who’s 11,’’ Mrs Latorre said.

‘‘It affects a lot of customers and is a cause close to their hearts.’’

Fairies must wear a tutu, wand and wings and must be in the designated area at 2pm for 30 minutes for the world record attempt to be recorded and filmed.

Registrations open 10am with activities throughout the day including face painting, live music, pony rides, a balloon artist, jumping castle, barbecue, raffle and an appearance from the Paddle Pop Lion.

Former local fund-raising motorcycle team Tex O’Grady and dog Bundy will drive down from Nambucca Heads on the north coast to be part of the fun.

Registration is a gold coin donation.

Mrs Latorre hopes to make it an annual event.

Participants can pre-register before the day at Minchinbury’s M Centre, 40 Sterling Road.
