Police recruits here

Camden Superintendent Peter Gillam has welcomed four new police recruits to the Camden local area command. “I am very pleased to welcome these new recruits to Camden Local Area Command, and look forward to guiding and teaching them as they embark on their first year of policing,” Superintendent Gillam said. The four probationary constables will work in the command for the next 12 months to complete their degree before they are sworn in as fully-fledged constables.

Abduction attempt

Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 17-year-old girl on a Countrylink train between Douglas Park and Picton at about 5pm last Wednesday. Police said the male offender tried to force the victim to come with him before getting off the train at Picton train station. He is caucasian, in his 30s, thin build, 170cm tall, long dark brown hair tied back, tattoos on his upper left arm and lower left leg, wearing a green T-shirt and blue knee-length cargo pants. Anyone with information is urged to contact Camden police on 4632 4499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
