Trio from The Hills excell at Paralympics

May 7, 2018 by admin

Paralympic celebrations are in full swing across The Hills after Simone Kennedy’s silver-medal-winning ride in the cycling C1-2-3 individual pursuit and bronze-medal wins by Jayme Paris and Rosemary Little.

The Hills trio were impressive in their cycling and athletics events with Paris setting two new world records during qualifying.

Kennedy, 18, one of the youngest on the Australian team, finished four seconds behind the Chinese gold-medal-winner in her first Paralympic Games.

Cycling teammate Paris backed up her bronze-medal-winning performance in Beijing four years earlier with a third-place finish in the C1-3 500-metres time trial.

West Pennant Hills wheelchair racer Little showed her early Paralympics track form by clocking 19.95 seconds in the women’s 100-metres T34 event. She competes next on Thursday in the 200-metres wheelchair sprint.
