The year 12 Glenwood High School student wants to see the council address traffic problems in and around Stanhope Parkway.

“There’s a constant flow of traffic here and I think council should look at managing the situation better,” Ms Rawlings said.

Ms Rawlings said there were a number of trees in the surrounding streets which impede visibility, making turning dangerous for motorists.

“I’d like to vote for a councillor who will look at making a difference for my area and the Blacktown CBD,” she said.

Ahead of next month’s election Ms Rawlings plans to scan community websites and newspapers to read more about the local issues.

“I’m a bit nervous voting for the first time and see it as a big responsibility,” she said.

“I hope I can pick the right candidate who will do a good job representing the community.”
