Parramatta Rugby Club have broken a 21-year drought to reach the qualifying finals of the Shute Shield.
The Two Blues had a tight 18-17 win over West Harbour to keep their premiership dream alive.
To win their first premiership crown since 1977 they must first beat Manly who come into the game as the favourite having finished second on the Shute Shield ladder.
Coach Glen Christini said his team won’t be daunted by the challenge and would be looking to dominate the game with a quick tempo.
Manly lost their first qualifying final in week one of the finals to Sydney University 42-12.
‘‘We have to use the ball quickly. That’s the secret to unlocking their defence and controlling the game,’’ Christini said.
‘‘We’ve earned the right to be here and we go into the game with a good record against Manly, so there won’t be any mental scars.’’
Two Blues supporters can cheer on Parramatta this Sunday at Manly Oval from 3pm.
This week’s other semi-final sees defending premiers Eastwood play Northern Suburbs on Saturday at 3pm.
