CASULA High School science teacher Dr Ken Silburn is one of four scientists selected to represent Australia at a training forum on climate change with former US vice president, Al Gore.
Held over four days in San Francisco, the training will bring together 1000 passionate volunteers from around the world to equip them with the tools needed to educate the public about climate change.
Dr Silburn said initiatives like this were important because it gave leaders in climate change the tools and skills needed for effective conversations on the climate crisis.
“There is more than enough evidence supported by the scientific community to validate that the current climate change is a result of human activity,” he said.
“We can no longer accept that it is someone else’s problem.”
Dr Silburn (pictured) said attendees would learn how to present their own material on the effects of climate change.
