Ned Mannoun: Fix our roads which have been neglected, install CCTV to make Liverpool safer and build a new park in the southern end.

Wendy Waller: Develop our current commercial properties in the CBD for a maximum income and return the council to 1 Hoxton Park Road.

Signe Westerberg: Promote Liverpool’s strength; its location for business, and the able workforce living in the area. Support our status as a regional centre.

Gary Lucas: Growth, employment, civic pride. Bring councillors together and show the people that it’s their council, not the domain of a political group.

WITH the Liverpool City Council election less than two weeks away — on Saturday, September 8 — we

have asked all seven mayoral candidates a number of

questions.

These included why you want to be mayor and how how will you make a difference?

We also wanted the candidates to look to the future so we asked them for their three big ideas for Liverpool.

A summary of their answers is published here; the detailed

answers are on pages 5, 6 and 7.

PS: One candidate, Jim McGoldrick, did not respond to

our messages and calls.
